In 2022 I was asked to help with prototyping a project with an artist in Unity.
The project was similar to horror games such as Silent Hill, The player would navigate the world and interact with items, the environment and other entities relating to a narrative.
I was asked to create some readable notes, inspectable entities and items that could be picked up and stored. I worked with other developers going back and forth on how these mechanics should work, all the while providing prototypes and comparable builds in order to better understand what would work best.
I also experimented with seamless portals in creating liminal spaces. I adapted Sebastian Lague’s portals in Unity and experimented with looping worlds and inverting environments.
